Washington State passed legislation fully conforming to the national Streamlined Sales Tax (SST) project during the 2007 legislative session.

The SST project seeks to streamline sales tax laws and administration across the country.  The ultimate goal is to improve compliance by retailers and purchasers for reporting sales tax.  This has become even more important in light of the growing number of on-line purchases using the Internet.
